Shannon Fabray’s career in the art world is on the rise thanks in no small part to her signature sculpture Her Marine. But with fame, comes fans and some like to get closer than others. Coping with the notoriety, Shannon doesn’t let the constant contact get under her skin until one night, it goes to far and to Shannon’s horror, one of them is making it very clear he wants the artist for himself and sees her as a possession that should be added to his collection.

Serving overseas is a lonely duty…

Captain Charlie Sparks faces an impossible task—assigned to a security detail for the sister of a fallen Marine. The last thing Charlie wants is this beautiful woman in the middle of a base in Afghanistan no matter what holiday she plans to help them celebrate. But no one asked for his opinion, and worse, she’s everything he adores in a woman and more…

Mourning what might have been is a terrible burden…

Jana Grimaldi had a plan—a plan to help her brother when he came home, but his death in Afghanistan left a hole in her heart and a desperate desire to do something. With the help of Congressman Sparks, she heads to Afghanistan to bring Thanksgiving to the men and women who served with her brother. Nervous and uneasy, she finds an unexpected—and familiar ally in Captain Sparks…

Not all wounds heal…

Charlie was one of the first people to reach out to Jana, communicating via email when her brother died—but coming face to face in the lonely desolation of the holiday connects these two wounded souls…

Can Charlie and Jana find hope amidst the heartbreak this Thanksgiving?

Excerpt:

“Miss Grimaldi?” A deep, smooth, masculine voice pulled her back to the present and the officer dressed in the deep dark tan and olive MARPATS waiting inside the door. He stood easily over six-foot. The uniform did little to disguise his broad shoulders or thick muscular arms.

Rising, she adjusted her bag and held out her hand, fumbling for a greeting. “Hi. Captain…?”

“Sparks.” Quiet hesitation arrested his features and a muscle ticked in his jaw.

The congressman’s brother was her escort.

Her heart thudded against her ribs and her nerves stretched taut. Captain Charles Sparks gave the order that led to her brother’s death—a communication failure. She understood all the terms, the reasoning, and the apologies. Even his letters expressed his heartfelt condolences and apologies. Letters she’d answered, and he’d returned regularly.

He grasped her hand and the world seemed to shrink away, as though someone dropped her in a drum and banged it loudly from the outside. His words had provided a desperately needed source of comfort—straightforward, blunt, and without any pretty excuses. A mistake had been made, one costing a good man his life. He didn’t ask for her forgiveness. He’d never asked her for it, no matter how many exchanges they’d had.

Staring into his coffee-brown eyes, she knew he hadn’t forgiven himself. And that’s why Congressman Sparks offered his help and asked for mine. Weak-kneed, she sat abruptly. Her fisted grip on the captain’s hand pulled him forward a step.

Concern rippled across his face. “Ma’am? Jana?”

Unexpected grief locked her throat and tears filmed her vision. She held up her other hand and he wavered. Fighting the urge to sniffle, she squeezed her eyes shut and concentrated on breathing. Grief might be the one emotion everyone had in common, but acceptance came in its own ways, on its own time. Understanding the concept intellectually and experiencing it, however, were two completely opposite things, because the crappiest part of her grief lay in how she couldn’t control it.

“I’m okay.” She fought to get the words out. “I’m sorry.”

“No,” he said, his voice gruff. “I should apologize. I thought you received my e-mail about being your escort.”

“I haven’t looked at my e-mail since leaving Dallas, I’ve been so focused on getting here.” Moistening her lips, she struggled to bring her tumbling emotions back into focus. It would be easy to hate the man, to blame him for what happened, and to let anger take over her grief.

But easier didn’t make it right or fair.

Belatedly, she glanced up, surprised at her white-knuckled grip still firm on his hand. He didn’t pull away or try to let her go, but sadness clouded his eyes—sadness, and quite possibly regret. “I didn’t mean to fall to pieces on you, Captain Sparks.”

Class of '93 Trilogy: A cover reveal, a release date, and an excerpt

Hello!  Wow, the 9th snuck up on me this month. It shouldn't have. My daughter-in-law's birthday was on the 7th and my oldest niece's birthday was on the 8th. So I should have known that the 9th was coming. Math may not be my strong suit but I can count!

Anyway, it's coming! The first book in my Class of '93 Trilogy, Deadly Briefs, is being re-released. It'll be available on Kindle on Nov. 15. Here's a first look at the new and improved, and VERY HOT, cover! I hope you enjoy the excerpt.

Simultaneous explosions rocked Aiden Greene’s world.

A flaming orange and red fireball erupted around him, knocking him flat on his ass. Or more appropriately, catapulting him away from the inferno. The impact whooshed the air out of
his lungs and scattered his wits. Intense heat singed the hair on his arms and melted the plastic buttons on his shirt. It heated his watch until the band burned his skin, and the zipper of his pants
scorched him through his underwear. Pieces of burning debris fluttered in the air around him. His ears hurt, the raging fire and subsequent popping aftershocks pained his sensitive eardrums. The burning rubber assaulted his lungs with every gasp of air.

Dear God in heaven, what the hell was going on? He flashed back to memories of war zones, when he’d been an intelligence officer in the United States Air Force. Except this wasn’t some foreign country, this was the good old US of A and he’d just left his apartment to head to his office at the law firm to sneak in some extra time at work.

But all of that paled in comparison to the second shock to his system. A warm, feminine body pressed his to the ground. Long suppressed instincts, Air Force survival training from a lifetime ago, struggled to the surface as he laid prone on the asphalt with his eyes closed. Generous breasts bore into the
muscle of his chest. Soft hips cradled an entirely different muscle, one much too happy, given the circumstances.

Her tiny hands searched his body with medical efficiency. She slid over him, her breasts bumping his chin. His mouth watered to sample the plump flesh through the layers of her clothes. Her fingers combed through his hair and checked his scalp before moving down his arms and sides. Her downward
motion brought her hips in linewith his again. Mr. Happy throbbed his thanks—it had been too long since he’d been even this close to a woman. Obviously, Mr. Happy didn’t give two shits about the chaos and confusion surrounding them. The sudden strength in those hands surprised him as she prodded and pushed on his abdomen, then moved down his legs.

“Oh, thank God.” She straddled his thighs, his errant fantasies filled with visions of her riding him. “It looks like you were far enough away to avoid any serious burns. You just have some minor injuries.”

That voice. He knew that voice.

Finally able to pry his lids open, Aiden found himself staring into the green eyes of Erika Dalton. The one that got away. Or more appropriately, the one he was too stupid to keep.

Cover Reveal: A NEW HARMLESS LOOK

It has been almost two years since Infatuation was first release and thus began the first spin off series of the Harmless series. I thought the books needed an updated look so I asked Scott Carpenter to do the new ones. For those of you who don't know, Scott and I go waaaaay back. He did all my covers at Samhain and he has done more covers for me than any other cover artist. I love him to pieces even if he is an A's fan.
The new covers will appear soon with updated info in them about new releases and upcoming books.
Oh and the square ones are the audio covers. Yes I am going to put these in audio:)

COVER REVEAL: A Marine of Plenty #HolidayMarines are Coming

I'd hoped to be able to preview all five of the holiday Marine covers, but we'll have to settle for just one today. Fingers crossed, the rest will be ready to show off later this month. Releasing October 21st is our 17th book in the Always a Marine series featuring Charlie Sparks--brother to Naomi Sparks. You may remember Charlie as her brother who was serving in Afghanistan while Naomi was visiting Mike's Place in What Part of Marine Don't You Understand?

Holiday Marines

The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November, and December each year and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to these youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.

This holiday collection of the Always a Marine series is dedicated to Toys for Tots and the men and women of the United States Marine Corps Reserve who dedicate their time, their efforts, and their funds to delivering this message of hope. A portion of the proceeds from each of these books will be donated to Toys for Tots to continue that mission. Semper Fi.

Cover Reveal for Hard As You Can (Hard Ink #2)!

By Laura Kaye

Hey guys! I'm super excited to share with you the cover for Hard As You Can (Hard Ink #2), a military romance and my current work in progress! Avon did a photo shoot for this cover. I first saw the raw images in May and about died I thought they were so wonderful. And the finished cover and stepback images are just amazing, too. See what you think:

Here's what it's about:
Ever since hard-bodied, drop-dead-charming Shane McCallan strolled into the dance club where Crystal Dean works, he’s shown a knack for getting beneath her defenses. For her little sister’s sake, Crystal can’t get too close. Until her job and Shane’s mission intersect, and he reveals talents that go deeper than she could have guessed.

Shane would never turn his back on a friend in need, especially a former Special Forces teammate running a dangerous, off-the-books operation. Nor can he walk away from Crystal. The gorgeous waitress is hiding secrets she doesn't want him to uncover. Too bad. He’s exactly the man she needs to protect her sister, her life, and her heart. All he has to do is convince her that when something feels this good, you hold on as hard as you can--and never let go.

And here's the cover and stepback images, an interior "second cover":

Tall, dark, and lethal...

Trouble just walked into Nicholas Rixey's tattoo parlor. Becca Merritt is warm, sexy, wholesome--pure temptation to a very jaded Nick. He's left his military life behind to become co-owner of Hard Ink Tattoo, but Becca is his ex-commander's daughter. Loyalty won't let him turn her away. Lust has plenty to do with it too.

With her brother presumed kidnapped, Becca needs Nick. She just wasn't expecting to want him so much. As their investigation turns into all-out war with an organized crime ring, only Nick can protect her. And only Becca can heal the scars no one else sees.

Desire is the easy part. Love is as hard as it gets. Good thing Nick is always up for a challenge...

Heroes Goes to France and Poland!

by Laura Kaye

I'm very excited to share that the first two books in my Heroes series have sold to France and Poland! Her Forbidden Hero has already released in both countries, and One Night with a Hero will release in France in August and in Poland later this year! One of the most fun things about foreign sales are seeing the different countries' representations of the stories through the cover art. Here's what I mean:

The original cover is a great representation of Marco, from the tortured posture to the lean musculature. The French cover is a great representation of Alyssa, right down to her hair, her clothing, and the guitar. The Polish cover is...I don't even know what! LOL Very artistic, that much I can say. But also, erm, weird? But...if it means that Marco and Alyssa get a broader audience around the world, I can hardly complain! Plus, my third grader who is taking French took the paperback to school to show her French teacher, who got a total kick out of telling me she, of course, didn't read any of it to the class! *grins*

Her Forbidden Hero in Poland
One Night with a Hero's Brady Scott also went on a world tour, though I only have the Polish cover to share so far!

Once again, the U.S. cover is a great representation for the hero, Brady Scott, from his blond hair to his muscles to his cut jaw. It also represents the heat and passion in this book, which as the name suggests opens with what's supposed to be a one night stand. The Polish cover is interestingly a decent representation of the book's heroine, Joss Daniels, and the sensuality of the story. But, seriously, this publisher owes me a set of silk sheets, I think! LOL Now, I can't wait to see what they come up with in France!
