New Release: SEAL My Destiny

Perfect timing, just in time for Memorial Day, Book #6 in the SEAL Brotherhood Series, SEAL My Destiny, will be officially out on Sunday, June lst. But you can order yours today with via Preorder.

I'm so excited to bring this full length novel, which was the expansion of the novella that appeared in SEALed With A Kiss Anthology. The novella is out in print as well as audio book formats already. Luke and Julie find a "soft" Happily Ever After, but at the ending of the full length novel, it is pretty dang hard! LOL.

Most of you know that I usually put a hot scene at the last chapter or two. I loved writing this one. I was crying the whole time.

Here's the blurb:  Navy SEAL Luke Paulsen, on the verge of PTSD stemming from the death of his fiancĂ©e and a brutal tour overseas, knows he is damaged goods and unsuitable for relationships. While paying respects to a fallen comrade, he is unprepared for the chemical attraction he feels for the carefree dark-haired beauty playing in the surf one evening.

Julie Christensen befriends the troubled SEAL, motivated by her yearning to soothe the young man’s troubled soul.  Fueled by intense mutual desire, they succumb to one night of mind-numbing passion. Afterwards, he is unable to shed the memory of his lost love and disappears.

When they meet again at a wedding that will forever bring their two families together, their passion and longing for one another forces them to confront their pasts in order to find a future together. But it ends up in heartache as Luke realizes he is still not ready to share his life with anyone. He goes on a specialized deployment to Afghanistan where his mental health is tested.

Julie finds the father of one of her students has become a threat not only to his own family, but to her as well. As Luke returns from overseas, he is thrust in the middle of a plan to save the woman he now knows he loves and is ready to protect with his life, if need be.

And the audio excerpt here.  Full length version of the audio book will be available the end of June.

Make sure you sign up for my newsletter (below). We are giving away a Kindle Paperwhite this month to one lucky subscriber, and that could be you!!

Leave me a message why you are thankful for the SEALs this Memorial Day, and win a chance for a free audio code for any of my first 5 books in the SEAL Brotherhood Series. Do you need a red wristband to celebrate Red Fridays? Send me a private message on Facebook.

An Unexpected War Hero...Sgt. Reckless America’s War Horse

Sometimes, as amazing as it seems, things can still surprise me... such as this story someone posted on my Facebook page about an unexpected hero--a war horse.

This diminutive sorrel filly, only 13-hands high, was being trained in Korea to be a racehorse in the 1950s when war broke out. Her training shifted from racing to battle and she was taught to step over communications lines, duck during incoming fire, and be impervious to the sounds of battle.

Alone, she delivered ammunition and supplies across 35 miles through rice paddies, 51 trips, saving her human Marine counterparts from this dangerous task. She was wounded twice and received the Purple Heart twice. She was officially made a Marine staff sergeant, and called SGT Reckless.

Amazingly, she survived the war to live out her days at Camp Pendleton. Even years later, her story still resonates. She was honored during this year's Kentucky Derby weekend with a ceremony and documentary. A new book about her amazing life is scheduled for an August release.

A Special Man

Happy Friday!!

I've been thinking quite a bit (again) about the real men and women behind the fictional heroes we all love.

My son is a 1LT in the Air Force (in case I haven't mentioned that before :) ). He had the privilege to work with a very courageous man, a fighter pilot who was shot down over Serbia. My son was so impressed with the retired LtCol, that he shared his story with me.

I'm really glad he did. And I'd like to share bits of it with you.

This is very quiet, so make sure you turn everything up! Every time I listen to this, my admiration for all our military service members endure grows.

Here's the link to a documentary about what been unthinkable until that point. For some reason, I can't find the video, so here's a link.

 I thought I was invisible!

And what happens to a man after he's shot down? LtCol Zelko showed the true measure of a hero!

The next time you're enjoying a story by your favorite MilRom author remember the real life heroes walking among us and those who gave their lives for us.

And don't forget about Mom! I hope my mother has a wonderful Mother's Day, she deserves it after all my brother and I put her through. Although in the interest of full disclosure, it was more my brother! :)

Happy Reading,

Felicia

New Books and My Crazy Month Ahead...

You probably already know that Embattled Home, Chad's story, is done and available on all platforms. The links are below if you didn't.
BUT... I bet you didn't know they were also available in print now! Check them out!

I had thought about combining the two stories together, but the books would have been a bit too bulky then. So, I printed them separately. I think they look really nice.

Also, SEAL's Lost Dream, Flynn's story, has been released as a single. Here's the Amazon link.

This week has been so crazy busy. I'm going to be in New Orleans, Louisiana next week for the Romantic Times convention and I'm super excited. I've never been to NOLA. If any of you are in the area, stop in and say HI! You should be able to pm me on Facebook or you can email me to let me know. authorjmmadden@gmail.com

The week after that I will be in Arizona at Arizona Dreamin' with our own Sharon Hamilton. If anybody is in the Chandler area and would like to attend, LET ME KNOW! I HAVE FREE TICKETS!

THEN, the week after I come back from Phoenix I'll be in Cincinnati for the Lori Foster Reader Author event, one of my favorites!

I'm tired just thinking about hitting all these, but so extremely excited too. I love conventions and conferences. If you're able, look me up!

If any of you have been to New Orleans or Phoenix, let me know what I should put at the top of my tourist list!

Now, here are the links to the print books. Happy reading!
